RootsTech – the largest family history conference in the world – is back in person (and virtually) for the first time since 2020. For this year’s on-site RootsTech Conference (March 2-4) in Salt Lake City, Utah, the SAR Genealogical Research Library will be very well represented through the six sessions given by our Library Director, Cheri Daniels! In addition to her four regular sessions given in the Salt Palace Convention Center, the SAR Library will be co-hosting two hands-on workshops on antique photographs and how to care for them – held at the Family History Library (now Family Search Library)!

This concept of the hands-on, two hour, workshops in the Library is new for RootsTech this year – and our photography workshops filled to maximum in just a few days. The RootsTech team asked for additional spots, which we added, and are also filled up, days ahead of the conference.

Most of Daniels’ sessions are in-person only, but one of them will be livestreamed (and free for all) on Saturday morning (March 4th), with special guest, Donald Shores. One of the in-person sessions will be a panel session with Genealogist, Linda Colston, and SAR Staff Genealogist, Deborah Maddox.

Daniels is not new to the RootsTech Conference – this is the 6th year she has presented at this award winning conference that typically draws upwards of 25 to 30 thousand on-site attendees each year. During the Covid years, when all sessions were free and virtual, and still available in the RootsTech On-Demand Library, millions of people have viewed them to date. To access a sampling of the RootsTech sessions Daniels has given over the past few years, please see the On-Demand Library to watch anytime.
