Have you heard? The National Genealogical Society (NGS), the nation’s premier society for genealogical research, has chosen the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) as the host society for their 2025 national conference in Louisville! The Tales and Trails Family History Conference will take place from May 23rd – May 26th at the Historic Galt House Hotel in downtown Louisville and will bring over 1,400 attendees. The four-day conference will offer instructional sessions, luncheons, tours, and much more.

As the local host society, the SAR will coordinate with NGS in recruiting volunteers, garnering publicity, and planning events for the conference. This means we will need a lot of volunteers to fill various roles! We will need booth workers, general conference workers (registration, classroom monitors, guides, etc.), Color Guard, library research helpers, docents, etc. While planning has just begun, we already have a live volunteer interest form so you can jump into the fun! For the most part, we really need boots on the ground help – sometime during the conference – which includes the pre-day activities (Friday) and Memorial Day activities (Monday). If you can help, physically in Louisville, any of those days, please complete the volunteer interest form. CLICK HERE FOR VOLUNTEER FORM.
